Tyler Fox

Nickname:
Foxy

Age: 26

State/Hometown: The Ottawa Valley, CANADA

Favorite place to paddle: On any River new to me, preferably in some deep remote pristine gorge.

Playboat: The Project CX54 or Project 52

Creekboat: Habitat 80

Favorite Move: Flash Back or a big fat Boof

Favorite Music: I enjoy a wide range of music types, depends on the day or my mood. But you can never go wrong with a sweet 80’s tune.

Favorite Drop: Wow …. Tough question! They’re all so sweet, but if I had to put an all time feeling on one rapid it might have to go to the Last 200m’s of Morgan’s Gorge on the Waitaha River, NZ.

Hobbies Besides Kayaking: Photography, Filming & Editing, Snowboarding and some good old Ice Hockey. However, the last two suffer a bit from my continuous summer lifestyle.

Accomplishments:
I have a long list of rivers that I feel where a huge accomplishment to have paddled.
This past season I have been focusing on Creek Races a lot more:
Red Bull Rip Cup 08 – 2nd
Lord of the Fork 08 – Record - fastest creek boat time
Teva X-treme Race Bullerfest 09 – 2nd

Why you love kayaking:
I think you need to have kayaked to truly understand the answer to this one. Once you’ve been out there kayaking and get completely caught up in it, you catch the “Bug” and you cannot stop thinking about kayaking, you’ve found the answer. If I had to use one word to try and describe it, it would be “Focus”. Kayaking forces you to focus on kayaking, therefore, allowing you to leave everything else behind (to clear you head).
