Find Your Serial Number

 

To locate your kayak's serial number look at the outside stern (back) of the boat. Some, but not all boats, have a recessed area on the stern (right) side of the boat close to the line where the deck and side meet. Your serial number will always be in this area if your kayak is a whitewater or touring kayak. The serial number on sit-on top kayaks will be located at the stern of the kayak by the mould through carry handle. 

SERIAL NUMBER FORMAT:

Our current serial number format consists of 9 alphanumeric digits.  Eg. ABC12E323 

In certain cases this may be preceeded by a three digit code.  Eg. WEM  So in this example the kayak would display:  WEM ABC12E323

 

THE SERIAL NUMBER BREAKS DOWN IN THIS ORDER:
The first five digits consisting of three letters and two numbers, are generated in sequence by our system to give each boat its own unique identification. The next digit is a letter that represents the month of the year your boat was molded. The letter A represents January, B would represent February and so on. The next number is the last digit of the year in which your boat was manufactured.  The last two numbers will be the model year of the kayak. The example above would be for a kayak moulded in May 2023.
 
 
Some models may consist of 10 alphanumeric digits and have GB at the start of the serial number.  Eg. GBELA29C14  In this case, the last two numbers will be the year your kayak was made. The example here would be for a boat moulded in 2014.
