Hobbies besides kayaking: playing music, riding bikes, looking at rivers on maps.

Why I love kayaking: Kayaking takes us to places we otherwise would not visit and puts us into canyons we otherwise could not access.  It connects us to people we might not know with a potent trust and a shared appreciation.  When we launch in, we may boof over rocks, bump down slides, or portage along the bank, but floating is the overall feeling.  This sensation of shoving off from solid ground puts me in a different frame of mind while running rivers, disconnected from limitation and negativity and locked into positivity and possibility.
